Noise hazards

The extent of the noise-induced hearing loss depends on the intensity of the noise, its duration and its frequency or pitch. Put simply, the more time ears are exposed to any particular excessive noise level, the greater the degree of hearing loss. More time equals more acoustic energy and hence more damage. NIHL is progressive and permanent, but preventable with appropriate noise control options. Here you will find information and resources on noise.
