Report identifies need to offset effects of ageing workforce

With the proportion of Australia’s population aged over 65 expected to double over the next 40 years, Australia must produce ‘more output with proportionally fewer workers’, Treasurer Wayne Swan said at the launch of the 2010 Intergenerational Report.
