You can refine your search of the WorkplaceOHS website in several different ways.
Advanced search:
'All words' is the default search option. WorkplaceOHS will match any text which contain all the words which you have entered in the search box.
Example: Searching for ‘work family balance’ would return the following text: ‘A SA parliamentary inquiry has heard the balance between work and family life is shifting in the ‘wrong direction’ under the Federal Government’s WorkChoices laws’.
‘Exact match’ is the most precise search option and will only match the text exactly as you have entered it in the search box. Note however that using this option will exclude any variations, for example searching for ‘risk’ will not match ‘risks’.
Example: Searching for ‘work family balance’ would return the following text: ‘Working hours and work family balance have been considered in significant detail by the AIRC in the Working Time and Work and Family Test Cases’.
‘Any word’ is the broadest search option and will match text which contains any of the words which you have entered in the search box. This search option will return you a very wide range of documents, which may need to be narrowed further in subsequent searches.
Example: Searching for ‘work family balance’ would return literally thousands of matches, with documents containing only the word ‘work’, or the word ‘family’ or the word ‘balance’.
Search by jurisdiction
Select the Australian jurisdiction to search, ie the relevant state or territory, or the Commonwealth. If you wish your search to be wider, select ‘All’ to search across all states, territories and the Commonwealth.
Select from:
Search ‘News’ for only articles in the news database.
Search ‘Cases’ for only legal cases in the cases database.
The default search option is ‘All articles’ which searches across all articles published by the WorkplacOHS.
Industries:
The default search option is ‘All industries’ which searches across all industry categories.
To further narrow your search, you can search in the following industry categories:
- Accommodation, Cafes & Restaurants
- Communication Services
- Construction
- Cultural & Recreation Services
- Eduction Electricity, Gas & Water Supply
- Finance & Insurance
- Government, Administration & Defence
- Health & Community Service
- Manufacturing
- Mining
- Personal & Other Services
- Property & Business Services
- Retail Trade
- Transport & Storage
- Wholesale Trade
You can also search by ‘Other’ industry by specifying the details of the industry.
